This 1911 photograph of the Post Brookhaven Hamlet home was notated as being taken from their auxiliary cottage "Postscript" (see). It likely was taken by James H. Post himself.
Facing us is the southwest face. The other side is therefore the northeast face and generally faces the Old South Haven Presbyterian Church. To the left is the northwest face and wing, where today a pool may be found. To the right is therefore the southeast side, facing South Country Road.

From South Country Rd., looking northwest from South Country Road showing the southeast face or elevation. The Old South Haven Church is to the right (northeast). By some accounts, the wing to the right is said to have been the original Caleb Post house, remodeled and extended one bay.

Compare this picture of the modern northwest face of the house with picture 483 and 485 above. The principal difference is the expansion of the porch to the left. In the foreground is a swimming pool.

Reconciling this view with other pictures of the "Homestead" in the family collection at the Post-Morrow foundation is difficult. The evolution of the home from this picture to what is the modern structure will continue to require study.
