Comment: This house dates to before 1873, when it appears on the F. W. Beers 'Atlas of Long Island' with the name E. Albin. James Elbert (Albert) Albin was a fisherman (1870 census) and a bayman (1880 census). He was brother to Robert Albin who operated a grocery store at 340 Beaver Dam Road (Inventory ID Br18), just a short distance to the west.
