Comment: Looking southwest. Notice the similarity to the Selah Hawkins/Chauncy Lewis Hawkins House (Br23). Henry Egbert, Selah and Chauncy Lewis Hawkins were brothers -- grandsons to Selah Hawkins (Br20) whose house was nearly across the road.

Comment: This is the west wing of the house, the section that was originally a Fire Place schoolhouse constructed in 1855 and moved to this site abt 1872 when a new schoolhouse was constructed.

Comment: Nothing is known of the artist. As the Watson's tell it, the artist just stopped by the front door one day as said he was moving south and that they should have the picture.

While in the primiitive style, this painting better than a photograph displays the charm and feeling of this home, I think.
