From Beaver Dam Rd., looking southwesterly. The old oak tree shown in front of the church was over 200 years old. It became necessary to remove it in 1995, and a cross section of the trunk may be seen at the Post-Morrow Foundation headquarters on Bay Road. See also postcard picture below.

The ancient oak tree that sat at the edge of Beaver Dam Road near the St. James Church can be seen in many early photographs. By 1995 it had becomed diseased and died, dispite community efforts to save it. A cross-section of the tree may be found on the grounds of the Post Morrow Foundation, on Bay Road.
