Front view of the Wilkinson/Turner house taken about 1952 by Fred Mohlman. Based on newspaper accounts, the house was completed by the Wilkinsons in January 1875, probably replacing another homestead already on the site. It is said that it burned completely to the ground on a New Years eve in the 1960's (the best guess is 1965), from suspicious origins. It apparently was not occupied at the time of the fire, although it is said that some of Alfred M. Turner's paintings were stored there, as well as prosthetics for A.M. Turner's legs, which had been partially amputated before his death in 1932.

The green shaded area of this 1947 Survey Map of South Haven is what was likely the Wilkinson farmstead in South Haven, NY. It consisted of the main farm lot and two small meadow lots on the Carman's River.
